Oh, Really?
"The Constitution expresses principles."Oh, really? Take a good long look at it, mate: it's instructive to note that you will find the word "freedom" in it exactly once, and it's a disintegrated shard expressed in an afterthought. The word "liberty" appears three times, first as a rhetorical flourish, and then twice more as afterthoughts, both of them subordinating it to "due process".
Tell me what these "principles" are. The power to regulate commerce? The power to coin money?... exclusively, along with the ability to coerce everyone's conformity?
Run these principles down for me, Eric. And don't hand me any nonsense about how it's not perfect, or it's better than, say, Albania. Stick to the subject that you took up, and let's see these principles.
