No Euphemasia Here
Craig Ceely writes: "I do not resent that 'hijacking' of 'gay,' nor do I know anyone who does."
I do. I hate it, and I am never going to get over it. I regard it as an appalling cheat: a gratuitous mutilation of the language by people who could not stand the essential fight for redeeming the concept that they were trying to sneak past cultural attention when they stole that word from the rest of us.
And I think the suggestion that he endorses is equally rotten.
Me? I am an atheist, and I can stand the heat.
