A Thought For The Thoughtful
When it comes to firearms anything short of rocket-propelled grenades, a classroom is a very not-bad defensive situation. A killer entering a scene like that has an extremely dangerous tactical problem to solve. Defenders in that room know where he is going to be, and he cannot know where they're going to be once he comes through the door.
Once he has fired a single shot anywhere in the building, then -- if there is anyone in the building prepared to defend against him -- he's got big, big trouble because he's the only shooter on the scene who's given himself away.
